William Shakespeare’s As You Like It. The Summer of 2011 is your chance to see Shakespeare’s pastoral comic masterpiece. Directed by Trinity Shakespeare Artistic Director T. J. Walsh, who directed the festival’s award winning production of Twelfth Night, Trinity Shakespeare’s production embraces the melody of Shakespeare’s most lyrical of comedies.

Trinity Shakespeare Festival - As You Like It
In this play we meet Shakespeare’s most delightful heroine, Rosalind, escaping her evil uncle into the enchanted forest of Arden by disguising herself as a boy.  We are introduced to Orlando, a young man cheated out of his inheritance by his brother, and forced to flee to the very same enchanted forest of Arden.  With the help of Rosalind’s clown of a servant, Touchstone, and accompanied by the musings of a lost philosopher, Jaques (“All the world’s a stage.”), Orlando and Rosalind meet and a battle of wits leads to a battle of the heart ending in a surrender to true love.  As You Like It is Shakespeare at his comic and romantic height.
