T. J. Walsh
Director
T. J. Walsh (Director) has directed
productions in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles,
New York as well as Texas. His work locally has been honored
with a Best Director award by the Dallas/Fort Worth Theatre
Critics Forum for his production of Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses and
a Best Ensemble Award for his production of Neil Simon’s The
Odd Couple both at Dallas’ Theatre Three. His Theatre
Three production of John Patrick Shanley’s Defiance last
year was selected by TheatreJones.com’s Mark Lowry as a
top ten production of 2008. He recently performed his
solo play Pleading Infinity at the New York International
Fringe Festival and his play for UIL competition The
Thomas Paine Panther is published by Playscripts,
Inc. He is an Associate Professor of Theatre at TCU and
earned a Master of Fine Arts in playwriting and a Ph.D.
in Theatre History and Criticism from the University of
Texas at Austin where he studied with Oscar Brockett.
His area of research is in the history and theory of authorship.
He has been married to his wife Kristine for twenty-five
years, and they have four children.
