trisha Miller Smith
Trisha Miller Smith was raised in Northern
Michigan, is a graduate of Michigan State University and
holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from Wayne State
University where roles included Rosalind in As You
Like It, Ariel in The Tempest, and Angellica
Bianca in The Rover. While still in school, she
was twice nominated for Oakland Press Theatre Award’s Most
Valuable Performer, and received a Best Actress Award from
the Lansing State Journal for her portrayal of Alma in Summer
and Smoke. Upon graduation, she joined Kentucky Repertory
Theatre as a company member for 3 seasons where she was
seen in 15 shows including favorites Proof, Taming
of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and the one-woman
play The Belle of Amherst. While in
Kentucky, she taught acting for Western Kentucky University
and led countless classes and workshops all over the state.
A dear friend convinced her to move to Dallas and during
her 3-year stay she was fortunate enough to work for many
wonderful theatres around the metroplex including The
Miracle Worker at Dallas Children’s Theatre, [sic] at
Stage West, The Last Mass at St. Casimir’s at
Circle Theatre, Metamorphoses and Crimes of
the Heart (2009 Column Award nominee for Best Actress
in a Play- Equity) at Theatre Three. Trisha was most recently
seen in Chapter Two at the Jewish Ensemble Theatre
in Detroit and was a guest lecturer at Michigan State.
She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity since 2003 and
lives in Chicago with her way more talented husband Chad.
